Open position! Project coordinator - Policy labs
The BIOPATH research programme at the Department of Business Studies, Lund University, is looking for a qualified researcher to join our team in Mistra BIOPATH that works to integrate biodiversity considerations into the financial system.
You will work with our co-creative activities involving researchers, industry partners and policymakers. More specifically, you will be responsible for coordinating, supporting, and scaling up our policy lab methodology. In recent years, our policy labs have served as central arenas for collaboration between academia, government agencies, financial and business actors and civil society. The goal has been to explore, develop and test strategies and innovative methods to better integrate biodiversity into financial decisions. These labs have proven to be valuable platforms for co-creation and learning and have helped to identify both barriers and drivers for more effective biodiversity management.
We are now entering a phase where we aim to further strengthen this approach. The task involves developing a more structured institutional framework for how policy labs are designed and implemented, as well as exploring how the results can be used more effectively and translated into concrete policy outcomes and guidelines for decision-making that incorporate biodiversity considerations. The project will also analyse the current policy landscape and explore the possibilities of introducing new policy instruments – such as biodiversity credits and market-based incentives – that create synergies between biodiversity and climate action.
We are therefore looking for a candidate with proven expertise in biodiversity, environmental policy, corporate/sustainable finance or a related area, and with experience in leading or coordinating stakeholder engagement processes. We particularly value knowledge of behavioural politics, political acceptance and experimental methods. Experience of working with actors from different sectors – including government agencies, companies, financial actors and civil society organisations – is seen as a great asset.
Are you ready to help shape the next generation of policies that align biodiversity with the financial system? Then we look forward to receiving your application. Starting date 15 September. Duration until 31 August 2026.
